ISOC-IL announces: funding Israeli free software

The Internet Society in Israel (ISOC-IL) has just made a very interesting
announcement: they are seeking to help, with funds and other resources,
Israeli free software projects:

They are looking to help projects which will enable Israeli users to use
the Internet better and more easily using open software and open standards.
This broad requirement probably includes almost everything that mmbers of
this list are interested in doing, such as Hebrew localization projects,
writing Hebrew-specific software, writing Hebrew documentation for free
software, and so on.
ISOC-IL are willing to help existing projects, as well as completely new
projects - so NOW is the time for you to sit down and think: what would you
have liked to do to advance Free Software usage in Israel, but never had the
resources to do?

What kind of resource can your project expect to get from ISOC-IL? Well,
almost anything except people. This includes money, hardware, publicity,
bandwidth, connections - whatever you feel that could advance your
project, and as result advance the usefulness of free software to Israeli
Internet users (of course, the total resources to be allocated are limited).

Hamakor (the Israeli Association for Free Software and Open Source Code)
will be joining ISOC-IL's technical committee that chooses the projects to
be supported - to help ensure that the most deserving proposals get chosen.

Please pass the link to this new call-for-proposals to other people who
might be relevant but are not on this list. If you have ideas for projects,
but want other people to do them, or are looking for people to work with,
feel free to use this list as a platform to flesh out your ideas and build
small working groups that will send proposals to ISOC-IL.
Remember, the more proposals ISOC-IL gets, the better our chances to see
high-quality, important, Hebrew-support projects getting done in the next
year, which is an exciting prospect.

P.S. The last day to send proposals to ISOC-IL is November 2. It sounds
like there's still a lot of time, but please remember that much of October
is holidays, so please take that into account and don't leave everything
to the last minute :-)
