When I use just babel with hebrew as the default language and inputenc 
with the utf8x option, the English letters are not recognised - I get 
some Hebrew letters instead. Only if I use the culmus package I get to 
see both Hebrew and English characters without switching languages (but 
I do get an error saying "Option clash for package babel ... 
\def\hebrewencoding{cp1255}".) My babel version is 3.8d, and the version 
of the culmus package is 1.0
