Re: Hebrew in LaTeX

Hi,

No I did not, until a minute ago when I did try an noticed that none of
the Hebrew letters I type show up on the screen (not that this says much -
as I said I only spent a minute trying to get it to work, and apparently
setting the "document class" to "article (hebrew)" and the "language" to
"Hebrew" wasn't enough).

But more to the point, as far as I know LyX uses LaTeX to actually typeset
its final results. So if LaTeX doesn't work for me, it won't work, right?
In my current installation (Fedora Core 4), for example, I have a relatively
modern babel already installed with supposedly (?) most of the "ivritex"
fixes in it, but supposedly (?) no Hebrew LaTeX fonts installed and no
tricks (?) installed to make use of the Culmus fonts - so how is LyX
supposed to work?
