I suspect what you are saying could be chalked up to a lack of "professionalism" in the handling of new users. A motto for the Slackware-users mailing list... "Bringing all the Usenet trolls and filth to your inbox everyday!". I quit using Usenet years ago. I don't mind switching to Ubuntu either. Cheers.
