I'm not sure what's involved in installing Slackware using speakup, but
I do recall speaking to Pat about it once. As I recall, he mentioned
something about setting the TTY to point to your serial port, and
plugging in your speech synthesizer to that port. From that point on,
Slackware could be installed by blind people unassisted. He was quite
proud of that ability. Since Slackware's installation is text-based
using dialog, installation _should_ be easier by the blind by default.

The Slackware installer is written exclusively in English, so you're
stuck with that language.

You _may_ be able to use brltty though. When the installer boots, it
loads a tiny linux distribution in RAM. You could try installing brltty
in that ramdisk. You would need to mount the cd somewhere (I recommend
creating a directory like /tmpmnt and putting it there, since the
installer uses /mnt itself), then just install it with
installpkg /path/to/brltty-package. If there are not unresolved
dependencies, I suspect it would simply work.

Not sure how you will get around the English-only nature of the
Slackware installer.
