I propose an alternate method, that you can use if you have some free space
in you machine's hard disk.

Get a Slint installer for Slackware6-14.1n see http://slint.fr/installers
(alternatively you the one I've just put here: http://slint.fr/testing/).

Boot, make an EFI partition as instructed by the installer, choose the
TARGET but skip the INSTALL step, go to CONFIGURE and when asked, install
a boot loader using elilo, _not_ lilo.

After that, you'll be able to boot directly off your hard disk, not need
to use a removable device any more.

PS The reason I advise you to use a Slint installer instead of a genuine
Slackware installer is that in the case of Slint the initrd ships the
needed programs that are not present in the Slackware version you use,
but that's not the case for the genuine Slackware installer.
