You should address your rant to yourself.

ldap us not a direct dependency of svn but is a an optional dependency 
of at least apr-util among svn's direct dependencies. So if you upgrade 
it, just omit --with-ldap from the ./configure command.

Other than that you should know that if you don't want to install 
Slackware as a whole or if you want to upgrade a package you are on your 
own for dependences tracking, and that no one prevents you to adapt the 
SlackBuilds to fit your needs.
