This page: https://packages.debian.org/sid/xpdf provides a link to the Debian packaging: http://http.debian.net/debian/pool/main/x/xpdf/xpdf_3.04-5.debian.tar.xz Which contains the patches in /patches included just two days ago and that have certainly not applied in Slackware yet. Better post this information on LQ so that the package be fixed there. That will benefit all Slackware users of xpdf, not only you. Alternatively, try to get help or a fix upstream.
