I got the notification email for the update to kernel 4.4.111 (to patch for Spectre and Meltdown) on the Slackware Security mailing list a couple of days ago. Some errors got through in the email that are repeated on the Slackware Security Advisories website: http://www.slackware.com/security/viewer.php?l=slackware-security&y=2018&m=slackware-security.1191628 For example: ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware64-14.2/patches/packages/patches/packages/linux-4.4.111/kernel-firmware-20180104_65b1c68-noarch-1.txz should be: ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware64-14.2/patches/packages/linux-4.4.111/kernel-firmware-20180104_65b1c68-noarch-1.txz The error is repeated in all patches for Slackware 14.2 and Slackware x86_64 14.2. Easy enough to correct when downloading but it will likely confuse some users. I didn't know where to report this so I thought I'd send to this list and hope that whoever maintains the Security Advisories website will see it.
