John, Interesting. I know that JabRef-5.x requires jdk11. I've not tried jdk > 8 on JabRef-3.8.2 which is the version I want to continue to use. (I don't do seamonkey. I use alpine for mail and firefox for browsing web sites.) I'll try jdk12 or 13 and see what happens.
