Installing printer driver

During the pandemic I re-installed Slackware64_14.2 on this desktop
server/workstation and lost the driver to my Dell C1740NW color laser
printer, which worked fine until I did a clean install and lost the driver
(and several other critical tools.)

The Dell is a re-labeled Xerox 6000B and Xerox has available this linux
driver: xerox-phaser-6000-6010_1.0-1_i386.deb. I tan this through deb2tgz
and have the *.tgz file. I no longer recall how to install this driver, nor
do I have any notes on it.

I now need the color laser printer and ask for advice on installing this
32-bit xerox-phaser-6000-6010_1.0-1_i386.tgz on my 64-bit desktop.
