Hello, I'm trying to setup ALICE to install SLES7 on a variety of machines using dhcp and NFS. I first tried ALICE 0.9.2 which was provided with our copy of SLES7. I had a problems with the number of inodes on the initrd, so I increased the number of inodes in the make_inst_disk script. After that I was able to install a number of machines, but a few machines were giving me the following: /sbin/YaST --autofloppy return code 7 (errno = 9) I also saw a return code of 256 at some point as well. I thought perhaps this was again related to running out of space or inodes as there were messages posted to the list alluding to such problems. I did some checking and this did not seem to be the case, so I decided to try upgrading to ALICE 0.9.4. After upgrading, I was able to set the parameters for inodes and sizes in my TCF to the following: <SYS_INITRD_SIZE>4096</SYS_INITRD_SIZE> <SYS_INITRD_INODES>8192</SYS_INITRD_INODES> I am *STILL* seeing the YaST error I gave above, but I have noticed that it doesn't always happen. I was able to install one of my machines and thought the problem was gone. I went to install it again using the exact same floppy and it died this time. Is there any way to get more information on what is happening? I believe this is happening just after the last RPM is installed, but I couldn't be sure since the installer screen is cleared and I cannot find a useful log anywhere. Any ideas where I should look? I have a whole lot of machines to install and manual installs are really not an option. Cordially, -dath -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
