ftp install failure

Hello all.  I have tried doing an FTP install off many
differnet servers and still get an erorr after
connecting to the server.  After I type the directory,
it says "Error while accesing the FTP server:  File
not found on server".  I have the correct directory
for 8.1, have tried different boot images, and have
loaded the correct modules for the network card.  I am
lost.  Any help would be great.
