Hi,
  I didn't install gdm, i install it and in control center '/etc/sysconfig Editor' see that 'Display manager' is set to gdm but when i do this command:"startx --gdm"
  i get error.
when i click on "end current session" and come to new graphical login page select gnome session but go to the kde desktop again then from graphical login page i select "gnome fail safe" i get this error "gnome isnot installed".
  I think maybe some packages isnot installed, so, which packages i have to install to run gnome desktop.

  Thanks,
  Sibil

  Hi
Check you have gdm (gnome display manager) installed
Check /etc/initab .. see what the default display manager is set (or via YaST2).
You start a non default ?dm from init 3 with
startx --gdm (man startx).
SuSU has kde as default (if installed of course!)..
Hope that helps...
Best regards
Ade

Hi Sibil,

You haven't posted the error message(s) I requested.
Try this:

boot to runlevel 3:
-> At grub boot menu with SUSE 10.0 highlighted, tap your '3' key
-> and hit 'Enter'

at login prompt (text console; tty1):
-> log in as root
-> type 'init 5' and hit 'Enter'

post a description of what happens with any error messages

Carl
