Hi, it's me again... I have modified the kernel and now it does not boot any longer. *argh* It seems that aboot cannot decompress it or something in this way. All three lights flash for a moment on the keyboard (as it does it every time the kernel is loaded by aboot) and that was it; output of aboot looks like this: aboot: loading compressed boot/vmlinuz-2.4.19.gz... aboot: zero-filling 20224 bytes at 0xfffffc0000667b30 aboot: starting kernel boot/vmlinuz-2.4.19.gz with arguments root=/dev/sda3 I have never built a kernel on an alpha system before and are very unfamilar with the boot procedure. It seems that I have forgotten something very necessary, or haven't I? I compiled it with make dep clean boot and after building the core, the modules with make modules && make modules_install and after all depmod -a.
