I tried the install on a machine with 128 megs of ram and it solved that particular problem. A few caveats tho.. 1. As i choose "English" in the first box i get a warning "Cant find the image! Check the directory specification" 2. Even though i have 128 megs of ram it complains on not being able to use it as a X system. It gives me: Your Computer doesn't fullfill all the requrements to allow a graphical instalation..." I have a Number Nine graphicscard, and i have had it up and X'ing under 7.1... Not that it matters as i plan to use it as a pure server, but still... 3. The partition problem discussed on the list i VERY anoying. I am battling with it since two hours... Somehow after fiddling with the bsd label it somehow worked. But only if i let YAST do the partitioning itself.. None of the "expert" stuff works.. 4. I get a "gzip: stdout: Broken pipe" as it updates the configuration after installation och the Minimal system set. It still rolls though. and warns for the reboot about 64% through the process 5. The Generating /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key fails. It just hangs with 95-100% CPU load, and never finishes. It did so in 7.1 too. but i had hoped it to be fixed by now. Last time i had to redo the install and DEselect the ssh package and make it from scratch. That is NOT acceptable for me. I dont want to have to install all the gcc stuff for just ONE program. This time i solved it by copying the 7.1 homemade binaries to the new system. Thats what i have found so far. Might be more to come as i delv into the things more deeply. -- /Rikard ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rikard Johnels email : [email protected] Web : http://www.rikjoh.com Mob : +46 70 464 99 39 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >
