hi i just installed suse 8.1 on a as4100 and trying to boot from srm console, with no luck. my setup looks like: fdisk /dev/sda 3 partitions: # start end size fstype [fsize bsize cpg] a: 6 21 16 ext2 b: 22 86 65 swap c: 87 521 435 ext2 /dev/sda3 / ext2 /dev/sda2 swap swap at the srm-prompt i do: boot dkb0 "root=/dev/sda3" then the machine is boot until it stop with a kernel panic, an says i have to specify "root=". but that's what i did as you can see. whith the rescue system i'm able to boot with sda3 specified as root. what i'm doing wrong here ? thanks, markus
