Booting Suse from SRM

HI!

 I've re-installed suse on the alphpc. I set the swap partiton (first partition)to start on cylinder 3. My root partition was already set to start at 1025. I tried booting again using the:

>>>boot dkc100 -fi /boot/vmlinux -fi 'root=/dev/sda2 bootdevice=/dev/sda1'
and returned:
Block 0 is not a valid bootblock

So I went to the page you suggested to learn more about aboot. Unfortunately, I couldn't make heads or tails of the information. The command to check and see if aboot is installed is a unix command which srm does not recognize:

earth: # rpm -q aboot 

If aboot was not found, they suggested loading it through Yast...and that's it! It didn't say how! Do they mean boot Suse, go to Yast, play around until I can figure out how to install aboot? Do I have to go to an ftp site to load aboot? I notice that when I boot through the iso image on cd, the screen goes black and suse begins to load and i get:

aboot: uncompressing /vmlinuz
Aboot: loading uncompressed /vmlinuz

And some other aboot commands being run. This suggest to me that, at this point, SRM has passed control to suse on my hard drive, via iso image, so does that mean I already have aboot, but not installed on the first block?! Is this suppossed to be this complicated or am I not understanding something simple?! Please Help!  =)
