the kernel is built with the SuSE 7.1 patched 2.4.4. my 2.4.18 build would
mysteriously hang the machine after 2-3 days, but if i'm not mistaking i
think it did power down.
i'll have a look at the diffs to see if i can find it. thanks for the
pointers.
