I'm not sure if I understand your question. Are you asking if Domino can 
co-exist with "standard" Linux mail systems? If so, the answer is yes.

I had Domino connected to sendmail installations, and right now I'm using 
Domino with postfix. For example, you can define a postfix host as 
Domino's default relay host for messages leaving the local internet 
domain.
