Re: gsx auf linux

First of all: Domino on a virtualized machine in a production environment 
isn't recommended at all (exception: Domino on Linux for S/390 I can 
recommend --- but this is an other class of HW).

GSX-Server is mostly the same as VMware Workstation. The only differences 
I am aware of are:

possibility to assign more memory than VMware workstation allows
100 MBit/s Ethernet instead of only 10 MBit/s.

Thus all of the arguments against such a configuration apply. Thus, if you 
have performance problems: first install Domino on an adequate platform, 
then if you again hit performance problems, extend RAM. If your 
performance problems remain, extend CPU's. If you're seeing performance 
problems anyway think about ix86 not being the right platform for you. 
Maybe you better migrate to something more adequate...

In between these steps, I recommend reading all available information how 
to tweak the domino server. Try carefully. Analyse if it did something. 
Try the next. Then when you found a performance configuration, document 
it, keep it.

GSX-Server is fine if you want to set up a test system, or a low level 
server, but it is absolute inadequate for production systems. I would 
recommend at least ESX-Server for these. But even this isn't useful if you 
need pure performance.

Go head for dedicated hardware running only domino server on Linux! It's 
worth.
