SuSEConfig and Partioned DominoServer - /etc/hosts

why do SuSEconfig edit my /etc/host? 
I'm running SuSE 8.2 Pro....

I want to Configure a Partioned server an for the additional IP Adresses I
need the etc/hosts, is there a workarround?
