One of our databases runs wild on SuSE 8.0

Dear community,



we do have some weird problem running our Domino-Server on SuSE Linux 8.0
recently.

We do have 5 servers in a replicated environment running all the same
Domino Version and the same Operating System Versions / Flavours. The avg.
uptime of our servers is >50 days and we did not experience any problems in
other databases.

Under not yet reproduced circumstances a database which is usually at about
90M blows up to 258G. [1]

The only message we were able to extract had been from the replication log
of the server stating:

Unable to store document in THB/T_AKTE.NSF (NoteID = 36210) from
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXXXX THB\T_AKTE.NSF (NoteID = 32126): One or more
of the source document's attachment are missing. Run Fixup to delete the
document in the source database.
Unable to store document in THB/T_AKTE.NSF (NoteID = 0) from
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXXXX THB\T_AKTE.NSF (NoteID = 32162): One or more
of the source document's attachment are missing. Run Fixup to delete the
document in the source database.
Unable to store document in THB/T_AKTE.NSF (NoteID = 36218) from
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXXXX THB\T_AKTE.NSF (NoteID = 32134): One or more
of the source document's attachment are missing. Run Fixup to delete the
document in the source database.

After this message the server stopped to respond for about 5 minutes and
blew up the database to the size mentioned in the subject line.

From other posts I've learned that sometimes this "feature" creeped up
since Rel 5.0.10 but I'm not too sure about that.

Some other technotes stated that this message appears when a replication
conflict occured in a document containing attachments.

Our software partner assured us that this database uses no COM/OLE Objects
as some other technote suggested and is as puzzled as we are.

Does anyone kindly have any idea how to resolve this issue? This database
crash occurred five times in about four weeks and other databases do not
suffer from this malfunction.
