https and SSL Error 4165 - Domino 602cf1

Hi,
I'm having difficulties in running Domino 602CF1 and https.
Some https connections seem to be stuck in:

21.07.2003 13:49:56   Http Worker Thread ID [9827]: Working session 
[40]: Session State [SSL Handshake] :

and terminate like this:

21.07.2003 13:50:24   HTTP Server: SSL handshake failure, IP address 
[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx], Keyring [keyring.kyr], [SSL Error: Network IO error], 
code [4165]

After doing some search on notes.net I should not be too concerned about 
this message as it's just informational.
But that seems to be wrong!
Page loading is very slow, some pages load completely after 5(!) min.

My observations:

Browser independant, IE6 and Mozilla both have these problems.
Proxy independant, going direct or via squid no difference.
The browser seems to re-request two times, ssl handshake fails, third 
time connection is ok and page loads.
Renamed keyring files to keyring.kyr as I read somewhere, doesn't help.
Played with ssl settings, no luck.
