Hi Andy,

SuSE tells us: "Don't worry. United Linux 1.0 is not more than SuSE 8.2
Professional."

But SuSE tells us: "We have some contracts regarding the current United
Linux system, but we don't like to work on further United Linux Releases"
(together with SCO).

See:
http://www.suse.de/de/company/press/press_releases/archive04/ul_future.html

United Linux 1.0 will be supported for some years and in the meantime we
will have a Novell SuSE Linux. Or not.

You're right, this isn't the way to work together with professional
customers, but SuSE has a lot of difficulties to migrate in Utah. So we
have a situation similar to M$: We have to wait for miracles. The short
contact to the SuSE company is historical and it's a bit difficult to
trust in the Novell company.

My experience is telling me, that we have to read the IBM papers very
carefully!!!

But nice to read, that your domino servers are running on Debian. Are
there some informations available?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

Hi List!

Just a short question:
Why is IBM not supporting any versions of SuSE with domino 6.5.1?
Do we have to switch to RedHat or UnitedLinux?

My domino servers work on debian, knoppix and SuSE without any real
problems. Yes, it is harder to install a domino server on a debian box,
but when it is done, it works.

I found out on:
http://www-3.ibm.com/common/ssi/OIAccess.wss?DocURL=http://d03xhttpcl001g.boulder.ibm.com/common/ssi/rep_ca/5/897/ENUS204-015/index.html&InfoType=AN&InfoSubType=CA&InfoDesc=Announcement+Letters&panelurl=OIAccess.wss%3Fbuttonpressed%3DDET001PT008%26hfdd%3D%26hfud%3D%26timestamp%3D1075988752141%26user%3DEXT%26previouspagevisited%3D3%26page%3D0%26user%2Btype%3DRegular%26specific_index%3DDET001PEF010%26DET001PGL002%3DDET001PEF010%26DET001PEF001%3D%26catalogue_index%3DDET001PEF004%26DET001PGL001%3DDET001PEF004%26category_index%3DDET001PEF027%26DET001PGL003%3DDET001PEF027%26user%2Btype%3DRegular&paneltext=Multiple+information+search#Software

that SuSE is no longer supportet... So what now? Will they create a
monopol like M$?

Bye,
Andy *slightly frustrated*
