my first question is: "Why didn't IBM support my personal configuration?" 
Maybe I like to use a distribution that fits the requirements of our 
organization and also my peronal taste. This distribution must be reliable 
for IBM. And this reliability must include the technical and the 
economical view of a distribution.

The IBM statement "we support Linux" is more than a quantum leap, but this 
requires a technical reliability and some economical assumptions. There 
must be a company, that is responsible for the product. Its absolutely 
impossible to put a commercial product like Lotus Domino on the wide area 
of private distributions. We have seen a lot of distributions that are 
"orphaned" and a lot of fights inside the Kernel developers - partly 
resulting in deadlocks (IDE etc.).

It's my job to develop highly reliable applications - and I will never 
risk the stability and availability of our product. So, if IBM tells me: 
"You can install Domino wherever you want" this will make a very bad taste 
like "They will only sell boxes - not distribute products".

By the way: We can learn from IBM.
