Hello Mark,

      I run a R6.0.3 on a x255 (it is a 4-way machine but it runs here with
2 processors) with 2GB RAM, 8x72GB (RAID-5, one spare) for about 800 users
and 1000 applications (mainly knowledge bases) on Windows 2000. It should
run fine as well in SLE 8 but Windows is firm standard.

      Since I got the box a year ago with Xeon MP 1.4GHz, you should be
able to get it with 2.8 probably and have good performance. Depending on
the application profile you have it and if you need only two processors,
you can got cheaper x235 two-way machine. If you intend to grow, x255 or a
similiar can be expanded later.

Hello All,

I have been asked to supply a quote for a SuSE Enterprise server to
run Domino for ~800 users.

Does anyone have experience of systems of this size, and can give me
ideas on likely required spec such as RAM/processor/HDD.  It'll be an
IBM xSeries...

Also does SLES 8 support >2G RAM?
