The benefit to use younger releases ist the remaining lifetime. I prefer
to use new releases to install a new server system. The disadvantage to
use software at the end of the lifetime is to expensive.

By the way: Lotus Domino 6.5.2 is running on 2 systems with 2.6 kernel
(SuSE 9.1) and I'm convinced, that the most problems with domino servers
are not kernel specific.

SLES 9 won't be supported until 7 release due to changes needed to take
advantage of the 2.6 kernel. I saw someone else mentioned ASSUME_KERNEL -
I wouldn't put a system that you expect to scale into production using
this.

What's the point of using SLES 9 instead of 8 when 8 is supported on this
version when you won't get any benefit out of it yet?

hi
i have installed Domino 6.5 on SuSE Enterprise 8. Its a smooth thing. I
think it should workk without any problem. Make sure that you have all
required patches before installtion. But I don't think there will be any
problem. In last week I did it almost one installtion per day!
