Actually, I'm looking for the pre-packaged kernel, as well as the source
code.
I contacted SuSE and they said that they do not have kernel level 2.4.16-22
available for ia64.
They are working on a 2.4.18 level, which will be available for ia64, but
not delivery date yet.
SuSE is extremely slow on responses. It took them two weeks to get back to
me w/ a response.
1) What is the latest ia64 kernel level available from SuSE - The one that
comes w/ the OS is 2.4.7. (Enterprise server 7)
2) Where do I get the base kernels from? Do I have to get them from SuSE ?
3) Where can I get the latest base from so that I can then apply a patch
from kernel.org?
From the ftp.kernel.org site, I can obtain patches for ia64, but I need the
base before I can apply the patch.

Are you looking for a pre-packaged kernel, or the source code? You should
be able to get the regular kernel source and patches off www.kernel.org, as
well as the patch for ia64. The kernel and standard patches are under the
kernel/2.4 directory, the ia64 patch is under the kernel/ports/ia64
directory. As far as I know though, the latest stable patch was 2.4.18.
