Re: Chinese Font under KDE

I install in a old small harddisk
using de_DE.UTF-8
then install 3 fonts in
http://swyear.no-ip.org/yast_source/10.2/rpms/

it won't do any help
like you had descripted
seem qt-based program will prefer unscalable font to
show Chinese characters
but in my desktop using zh_TW.UTF-8 locale can show
correct characters

my suggestion:
1.if only web browser bother you
use firefox instead
2.if you prefer konqueror
start konqueror by a terminal and
export LANG=zh_CN.UTF-8
first
you can write a script to do this
3.if you want all qt-based program can do this
change your locale to zh_CN.UTF-8
but don't install kde-i18n-zh-CN packages
to keep your ui German
edit /etc/sysconfig/language
change RC_LANG="de_DE.UTF-8"
to RC_LANG="zh_CN.UTF-8"
then run SuSEconfig
and restart your session
