That's it! The difference between your environment and mine is, that I
use *x86_64* system and flash plugin is called via nspluginwrapper.

In the past, I tried to use Flash Player "Square" Preview Release, which
enables 64-bit support,

but the result was not good.

If you could input characters on Flash sites, this issue may basically
be caused by lack of 64-bit native Flash Player.

So, in this case, iBus itself might be nothing to do with this problem.
However, if the workaround would be 'use x86 version, instead of
x86_64', that isn't quite cool.

I tested this combo (64-bit, though) on my VirtualBox, but couldn't
input characters either...

We need some more validation for this issue, but anyway, this won't be a
barrier that prevents replacing SCIM with iBus as default input method,
I think.

After my previous post, one of Japanese users has built packages of
input-pad and ibus-input-pad. :-)
