making DVDs from .ts mpeg stream files

I think my Googling came up short getting the right packages for this. From
the typical repos, mostly Packman I think, I got:

1-DVBCUT for preparing the .ts files, such as trimming & inserting chapters
2-DeVeDe for building a burnable .iso from the DVBCUT mpeg file
3-K3B to burn the .iso

My first try with DVBCUT gave a 2847M .mpeg with chapters, with DeVeDe a
3279M .iso, and nice playable DVD with K3B, but:

1-chapterless
2-thumbnailless title screen

I see on http://dvbcut.sourceforge.net/ the latest release news is for 0.5.4
more than 3 years ago, while my installed version is 0.6.0 initialized more
than 11 months ago, and its mailing list archive has only 8 posts in the past
year.

I saw in a forum.videohelp.com post found by Google a suggestion to user
Mpeg2Cut2 for editing the .ts files, but software.opensuse.org/search can't
find any such app.

Anyone know if I'm going about this right, how to get DVBCUT's chapters into
the DVD, where to set a thumbnail, or some better way to do it all or help forum?
