Hi, you must take a look to http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/ to be sure at you have the last release of the driver for your kernell. I get the same problem and i have installed the driver from this page and all is going fine now. I have SuSE8.0 but the errors messages i get was the same. If you have a ov518, it's the same driver but you must use the decomp option. The doc on the site is very well done.
