Broadcast2000 Recording Problem

I have used Broadcast2000 for quite a while to convert cassettes to WAVs
to be burned onto CD-Rs. Ever since I upgraded from SuSE8.0 from 7.2, I
have not been able to record properly. The resulting WAV files are
time-compressed. I can play existing WAV files back (all sampling rates
and resolutions) without any problems, so the problem only occurs when
recording. I never had this problem under 7.2, and my equipment has not
changed since that time (Athlon800/384M memory/SoundBlaster Live!
Value). I have reinstalled Broadcast2000 several times, and reinstalled
the sound card, with the same results. I've set the recording sample
rate to both 44100MHz (which was successful in the past) and 48000MHz
(the SoundBlaster's fixed frequency). I got Cinelerra up-and-running
the other night, and it exhibited the same problem. I've got a live
audio overdub to do, and I'm dead in the water, for the moment. Could
the change from ALSA 0.5 to 0.9 affect it? I'm at a loss, and open to
suggestions. Thanks!
