MuseScore synth

Hi,

I'm trying to use MuseScore on OpenSuse 12.1. I downloaded the package 
from OBS Factory. It installed fine, but when I try to play a score, 
nothing happens.
I started from the commandline and there I see an error :
 > mscore
Alsa_driver: the interface doesn't support mmap-based access.
init ALSA audio driver failed
init ALSA driver failed
init audio driver failed
sequencer init failed
registerPlugin: add action idx 2
Load plugin: no menu property

It seems the built-in synth is the only one I can use although I have 
fluidsynth installed and functioning.

I tried building MuseScore from the source-rpm, but that fails on about 
32%. I can give more details if needed.

Any suggestions how to solve this ?
