Hi!

I'm an italian student in a school of Rome.
We bought Suse Linux 8.0 and I tryed to install it on two computers we
have at school.

If we manage to let Linux work with these computer, we'll try to use
it on all school's computers.

Anyway, we get some trouble.

The first computer, we tryed to install Linux on, is a Pentium IV 2.5
Ghz, with a large hard disk (120 GB) and a lot of RAM (512 Mb).
On this computer the sound card (integrated on the main board) has not
been recognized by Linux, and the sound doesn't work. The sound
chipset name is: Sigmatel Stac 9750T. Also the printer (Hp deskjet
920C) doesn't work (maybe because of the USB ports...) and the modem
(a PCI card): Aztech CNR 2800 W V92.

On the other computer, a Pentium IV 1.6 Ghz, with 40 GB HDD and 256 MB
RAM, Suse Linux 8.0 managed to recognize all the hardware, during
installation.
Anyway there's a bigger problem: when I reboot the system (after
installation) it can't boot. It stops on the line about sound
(something like "loading previous sound...")

I hope someone could help me!
Thank you in advance!

Greetings from Italy,

Paolo.
