Re: Suse Linux 8.0: trouble with audio

Ok, first try to instll with the "Safe" option.  This will avoid any conflicts 
your propably having with things like acpi, and dma settings.  You can always 
enable them later.  

Also, 8.1 would be my choice to be honest.  8.0 is alright but most X.0 
releases tend to be buggy and I have found this to be the case and 8.1 has 
resolved many issues in this area.  Furthermore 8.1 has a newer kernel and I 
also found this to have a wider and more stable amount of supported hardware. 

Try again it the SAFE install configuration and if possible post any pertinent 
log files that will give the list a better Idea of what's happening.
