Console resolution problems

Hello,

 

I'm using SuSE 8.2. on IBM R40 Series notebook with ATI Radeon Mobility 7500 graphic card. The LCD display was made for primary resolution 1400x1050. I have no problem under X, but in the console mode I can't set this resolution and a screen is not sharp.

I'm guessing that need to change frame buffer settings (/etc/fb.modes), but I have no idea how to do that, or how to calculate all frame buffer parameters.
