Hmmm, Never tried changing the text console res before! I always use a resized terminal window within KDE... I just switched to SuSE 9.0, winbook Z1 (1400x1050 ATi Rage Pro 128 Mobile) so I bet this will work under 8.2 also. May not be kosher but it worked for me. Cheat: when you boot up pass the kernel "vga=1400x1050" and you get the native resolution. Type it into the box at the bottom of the grub boot/choice screen.
