2 sound cards howto ?

my system as one AC97 integrated sound card and a SB Live, all drivers
seems to work fine.
In Suse 10 update, i select my SB Live as the primary sound card, but in
hardware list, it appears as the second !!!
the problem is that there is no sound with KDE apps, Kaffeine for ex.

How to select the sound card, apps by apps or global ?
