Hi John,

Since this is a common question I make the response to the mailing 
lists, if you don't mind.


The answer is very simple: We and Oracle are working on the next major 
product, which will be United Linux, and UL based products from 
Conectiva (Brasil), TurboLinux (Japan), SCO (was: Caldera), and SuSE 
will be announced in the middle of November.

Until then we simply have no news to report, simply because there is 
none - SLES-7 was and is porting platform at Oracle for all 9i based 
products, i.e. all available right now, and we are not working on it any 
more (except for maintenance of course!) but concentrate all new 
development efforts on the new product, so there really are now news 
items for SLES-7.


Oracle has not changed their position, for a long time they have been 
saying and continue to do so that they support exactly two Linux 
distributions: RedHat and SuSE, and since SuSE is the project leader and 
producer of the United Linux it means they end up supporting all four 
Linux companies working on UL based products - a development which 
Oracle certainly doesn't mind!
