Re: SLES10 SP2 X64 LVM iSCSI problem

LVM and iSCSI are not configured (aliogned) properly in SLES10. I did it in SLES9 SP4 (it required 4 changes),
and I tested SLES10 iscsi few times and found it very difficult to use because of all this mess:
- LVM don't see iscsi disks;
- hot plug function which replaced _netdev mount dont see iscsi disks properly (not in all cases)
- if you use multipath and then lvm and iscsi upfront, it became very difficult to undersatand which LVM disk is where.

I recommend to do a simple hack:
- copy netmount service (don't remember exact name) from SLES9 SP2 into the SLES10 (it is service which mounted _netdev disks);
- make this service dependent on iSCSI service
- remove parallel rc mode (somewhere in sysconfigs) - so that services are runned sequentially and not in parallel (default is parallel)
- in netmount service, add 60 seconds pause, then run /etc/init.d/boot.lvm startup, then run _netdev mounts.
- it may help (through hacking iscsi startup can eb better option, if novell do it).

It's really a big shame for Novell. Even RedHat have iSCSI and lvm aligned much better then SLES10.

  Try vgscan after reboot, and after that execute an lvscan if you have logical volumes in this vg.
