Hi fellows, I would like to ask do you think it is possible to do an in-place upgrade of SLES932 bit to SLES11 64 bit ? Has anyone done something like that? We have 2 machines with SLES9 32 bit, which have Oracle 10g RAC on them. I would like to create another database with Oracle 11g, but as you know Oracle 11g is not certified on SLES9. My databases are on ASM disks. I think I won't have problem with the databases them self (to upgrade them to at least 64 bit Oracle 10g). I have some doubt about the behavior of Clusterware - I don't know if I have to upgrade it, or reinstall it. Anyway I think I am capable to reinstall all the software (so that I have a new and good Oracle inventory), and then to attach the ASM disks and upgrade the databases from 10.2.0.4 32 bit to 10.2.0.4 64 bit. Anyway I prefer upgrading the OS, because there are some other software items installed and configured, and I don't want to reinstall all of them. So what are you thought on upgrading the OS?
