pktcdvd and DVDRAM defect management

Hi there,

afaik the defect managament of DVDRAM is built into the drive's 
firmware, right? So, when one uses the pktcdvd driver to access DVDRAM, 
does this disable the drive's built in defect management or is it still 
active?
