Josh, > Just finished my install of 1.4 on a Sun Blade 100, looks sweet thus far > :) I remember hearing mention of a sparc patch to XF86 4.1 by Dave > Miller that theoretically fixed the error I'm getting. Anyhow without > further adieu, my error from XF86 4.2 in Gentoo 1.4: There is a patch by davem for 4.2.1, see bug # 7790 on Gentoo's bugzilla. Just copy the file in place at files/4.2.1-patches and it should be employed automatically. Then emerge the 4.2.1 ebuild (it's masked so can't emerge it with 'emerge xfree') and it should work fine on the ATI. However, I have this issue: with my Ultra 10 which has 2 VGA ports (Elite 3d and an ATI) I can't get the ATI to work, it says 'Adapter not initialized'. perhaps this is a kernel issue? Because of this I haven't looked further at the Elite3D card so I don't know if it works yet. I wish debian didn't patch the original upstream file so we could re-use debian's patches more easily, all these things were fixed way before we heard about them. I remember now why I dislike that distro :). cheers, maarten - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe sparclinux" in the body of a message to [email protected] More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
