I have a checkpoint ftp proxy/firewall server configured on our corporate LAN for internet access. I can't find any way to configure a user-id/password within a SUSE Sparc 7.3 ftp client.

For windows clients, I use WS-FTP pro which allows to define a firewall type of USER remoteID@fireID@remoteHost

Is there something really obvious I'm missing in the Linux configuration files ? Or can you recommend a linux ftp software in which I can define an account for the firewall ?

Thanks
Eivan
