There's no need to do so — recent kernel versions support
checkpoint/restore feature which is almost ready-to-use. It allows user
to «hibernate» separate process and restore in elsewhere. Just wait this
feature to be stable, write your own script to hibernate necessary
software — and voila.

Checkpoint/restore feature is being developed by OpenVZ team, try to
find some info in it's mailing lists or so.
