I do that all the time for my ia64 land. should work for PC-hardware too like linux console=ttyS0 I do have my terminals wired at 9600bps speed, but i think the form linux console=ttyS0,38400 should make it work other speeds (this isn't something i've verified) Yet again, if it's not COM1 you're using, but COM1, you obviously should use something like linux console=ttyS1,38400 at the isolinux promt (or PXE or what ever you use to boox the thing).
