OK, I managed to get kernel-2.6.10 to compile and work on Tao. Everything 
is compiled staticly.

The box still hangs occasionally though, especially when running bonnie++ 
on the array.

The display will show:
Warning : many lost ticks
Your time source seems to be unstable or some device is hogging 
interrupts

Not sure if this is a hardware problem or if it still due to the kernel.

As far as I can see I don't have any interrupt conflicts:
