results of sh ./insert

Okay, I now understand the results of insert a bit better.  The unstable
driver I built though it built on 2.2.19 nonetheless likely will not work
on 2.2.19 because of the unresolved symbols.  I've not yet managed a
successful kernel build so will not be upgrading the kernel until that's
happened.  I'll use the cd burner solution to handle this problem for now.
